                                     It looks  + adj.

ex) It looks like she is in trouble.

                        (she has a problem)

      (because her face is very serious)     -- appearance


Friend 1 : the food on the menu is delicious.

Friend 2 : I agree. you sound very hungry.

               It looks like you want to eat more.

Friend 1 : Yes, I want to try the other meals on the menu.                 


☆ look like + Noun = resemblance.

you look like my sister.

My roommate looks like a Korean actress.

☆ look + adj (description)

this book looks new.

Filipino people looks happy.


Person A : I bought a bag.

Person B : it's so pretty.

                  It looks expensive.

Person A : No it is an imitation.


Summary.

1. It looks like + S+ V = a guess about a situation.

2. sby/sth look like + N = resemblance, similarity.

3. It looks + adj = description about sth/ exaggerator

4. It looks as if S + V = impossible / imagination


ex) I saw my classmate jumping outside.

      It looks as if he won the lottery.


man 1 : you look unhappy.

man 2 : Honestly, yes My colleague always give me orders.

man 1 : Really, It sounds bad.

man 2 : That's right, It looks as if he is my boss

* colleague  =  co work same position. 


she looks tired as if she hadn't slept for a week.
